DIANA CARMIN

Jazz fusion with heart

A(r)t first,
there was Do...

Diana Carmin is a Romanian-born, London-based jazz-fusion vocalist, songwriter, and bandleader. Her sound is a swift velvet voice moving through smoke: sultry, mesmerising, with an air of sacral, and quietly devastating. She interprets songs with a ritualistic thirst, drawing from the greats of 60s jazz, with light incorporations of her Balkan heritage and calm, occasional ripples of bossa nova.

From one, to many

She leads the Diana Carmin Quintet, a band of some of London's most exciting and coveted jazz musicians. Together they are not afraid to push at the edges of the genre, merging her original songs from Tender with swing and world music textures. The result is a live show that feels intimate and alive, an authentic journey through grief and its tumultuous waves that somehow makes you want to stay.Whether she's performing solo, shining under the spotlight as a duo or trio, or leading her full quintet, Diana brings the same spark and prestige to every stage. From intimate London residencies to festival main stages, her voice and her band adapt to the room without ever losing their signature sound.

A love for the (a)live

Winner of Fuller Sounds '25 and shortlisted for the prestigious Peter Whittingham Jazz Award. She has climbed upon many a stage, earning her chops in London's jazz rooms, from the notorious upstairs at Ronnie's vocal jam to the fresh Downstairs at 180 and the respected St Katharine Docks Jazz Festival. This year, Diana headlined New Music Monday alongside her quintet at The Ned, and is freshly back from opening the beautiful Gărâna Fest in the West Carpathians, followed by a solo national radio appearance in Bucharest.
